McAllen Bolt & Screw essential to maquilas McAllen Bolt and Screw, a general industrial supply house, is an integral player in the everyday operation of
maquiladoras. The 15,000-square-foot corporate office, located at the Logistics Center in the Sharyland Business Park, is dedicated solely to the maquiladora industry. "The warehouse and the sales department are
now all under one roof," said Roel Avila, outside sales representative at McAllen Bolt and Screw. The other office, located on North 23rd street in McAllen, is open to all other businesses. Tony Aguirre Jr.,
president and owner of McAllen Bolt and Screw, oversees the entire company on a daily basis. "He's a hands-on owner," Avila said. "We don't specialize in just one part of the industry. We do a little bit of
everything, like hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, anti-static supplies and cutting tools," Avila said. McAllen Bolt and Screw serves about 300 maquiladora plants. "We're set up with manufacturers, of
which our biggest line is 3M. There's also Loctite adhesives," Avila said. The dynamic growth in Reynosa has had a positive impact on McAllen Bolt and Screw. When the company first began in 1979 there were only
two employees, now McAllen Bolt and Screw has 43 employees. "If you visit any of the industrial parks, many of them are under construction," Avila said. "Once the latest industrial park, Villa Florida, is completed
it will be the largest industrial park in Reynosa." This creation will boost not only the economy, but business for McAllen Bolt and Screw. "Since we are well-known among the maquila industry, many companies
call us," Avila said. "If they need equipment like lockers or fasteners, they call us," Avila said. "McAllen Bolt and Screw's goal is to better service our customers and continue to grow," he said. |
